LAVENDER BUNCHES

The Hop Shop's long-term expertise with drying flowers has enabled us to produce top quality bunches of dried lavender for domestic and floristry use.  Varieties are selected for their colour and flower size, harvested in prime condition and kiln-dried to retain colour and condition.

Bunches of lavender can be hung in the home purely for decoration or for their scent.
   
VARIETIES

'Folgate'  is a dark blue, medium height lavender which can have a slightly wavy stem. Its deep colour makes it excellent for flower arranging and decorative use.

'Grosso' is a grey-blue lavender, known as Lavandin, with a strong stem, tapered head and a powerful, long-lasting scent ideal for hanging in kitchens, wardrobes or airing cupboards.   

Fresh-cut lavender is available in season from late June until the end of July.
Dried bunches and lavender heads are available all year.

LAVENDER HEADS

The grey-blue flowers of the strong-scented lavandin 'Grosso' are excellent for pot pourri and lavender bags. The dark blue flowers of true lavender with their gentler scent are the best for flavour and decoration in cooking especially if used in combination with the culinary lavender essence.

Lavender heads can be combined with wheat grains to make 'lavender warmers' - small pillows or wraps that can be heated and are popular for helping to ease aching joints or muscles. The wheat retains heat while the lavender gives off its soothing aroma.
