WHAT WE SELL
Our buying policy ensures traceability, quality and high ethical standards – from local produce to unusual gifts.

open:

HOME-GROWN AND LOCAL PRODUCE
Many of the shop’s products are produced on the farm - beef, Cox and Norfolk Royal apples,
apple juice, hops, dried flowers, lavender and essential oils, honey, pumpkins and pheasants. Others items are purchased direct from genuine local producers - cakes, jams, fruit pies, chutneys, ice-cream, sausages and bacon, meat pies, apple crisps and free-range eggs.
In spring and summer we source local asparagus, strawberries and cherries direct from other Kentish farmers, as well as local herb plants.
TRACEABILITY
If products are not available locally, we will seek to buy them direct from other small specialist producers who can provide a personal service and guarantee traceability. We believe this is especially important with our food products.
SMALL-SCALE SUPPLIERS
When having products made for us with our pure Kentish oils, such as candles or toiletries, we seek out people who have specialist expertise and a genuine passion for what they do, so that we can have total confidence in the quality of ingredients that they use.
We like to buy products that are not normally available in supermarkets or high street stores and the sourcing of gift items from abroad is done, wherever possible, through companies operating on Fairtrade ethics so that we can benefit local communities elsewhere.
Our aim is to provide you with the best of everything, so if you have any recommendations of products that we should sell or suggestions as to how we can improve our service, please let us know.
