BEEF
Castle Farm has a herd of native breeds of cattle, reared specifically for beef. The calves are born locally, in or near the Kent and Sussex marshes, and reared on the lush meadows or steep grasslands of our beautiful Darenth Valley. Our herdsman knows each animal and the beef is sent to many restaurants and butchers shops in the south-east and London.
Each animal is carefully selected when it is in its prime and then hung for three weeks for the meat to mature and develop its full flavour. Fresh beef, conveniently vacuum-packed as roasting joints, steaks, braising, or mince, is available from the shop every week as well as frozen beef and beefburgers. Advance orders can be placed for specific cuts or for whole sides.
PHEASANTS
Farm pheasants are available in season - November to January inclusive.
