FRESH HOP BINES
Fresh hop bines are wonderful to use in season. They can be draped and twined into position and then left to hang and dry naturally. Hanging them is easy - they can be hooked over nails or tied into position or just laid over beams or kitchen units.
During drying the flowers give off their nostalgic hoppy aroma. Please note, we check each bine before it is sold but there may be some insects or aphids present under the leaves. They will leave the bine when it starts to dry so any problem is gone after a few days.
Inevitably some flowers or leaves will be dislodged during handling so it is a good idea to use a dust-sheet underneath. Please note, hop flowers contain lupulin a yellow substance which looks like pollen. This can stain carpets or fabrics.
We harvest the hop bines fresh every day during the season and they are available direct from the farm shop or can be despatched by express carrier (preferably to business addresses only). Fresh hop bines must be unpacked as soon as possible on the day of arrival to allow the natural drying process to start and prevent browning.
Fresh hop bines can only be despatched to certain areas within the UK mainland.
