JANUARY and FEBRUARY : There's lots of beef and scrumptious pies available as well as tasty recipes for cold winter evenings. Bird nesting boxes and feeders are on display. Hearts, red candles and cards are a decorative theme in the lead-up to Valentine's Day.
MARCH : Hop plants available now until the end of April, for immediate planting. Sunday 2nd March. MOTHER'S DAY. Lots of new cards and gifts available.
APRIL : Friday 21st - Monday 24th March. EASTER WEEKEND - NORMAL OPENING HOURS Easter flowers, foods, cards and decorations.
New season asparagus may be available at the end of the month - depending on weather conditions.
MAY : Asparagus available throughout May - local, fresh-cut. Lavender and herb plants in stock from mid-May.
JUNE : Asparagus available until Midsummers Day - 21st June. Local strawberries.
JULY : Fresh-picked Kentish Cherries are available throughout July, plus strawberries, and raspberries (and gooseberries when available). Our lavender fields are looking their best and fresh-cut bunches of lavender and lavender plants are on sale at the shop. Tours of the lavender fields can be pre-booked on certain weekday afternoons. Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2008 LAVENDER FESTIVAL. Tours of the lavender fields and distillation unit, food tastings, and bee-keeping displays. Shoreham WI tea tent. Open 10.00 - 5.00pm. Free entry, tours £4 per person (children free).
Friday 11th and Saturday 12th July 2008 LAVENDER ART DAYS in the lavender fields with tutor Jill Storey. Pre-booking essential.
Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July 2008 AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE EVENT in the lavender fields. Pre-booking advised.
AUGUST : Fresh hop bines are available from mid-August and continue until mid-September. Harvesting of wheat and barley is in full swing on the farm.
SEPTEMBER : Fresh hop bines are available until mid September and dried hop bines are then in stock throughout the year. The orchards are open from early September to early October for the picking of our glorious Norfolk Royal apples. Check the newsletter for details of opening times. Local sweetcorn, Kentish cobnuts and Bramleys apples are all for sale.
OCTOBER : Our own organic pumpkins are cut. Lots of delicious culinary varieties as well as good ones for Halloween! The orchards are open for PYO until mid October. Christmas gets underway in the shop, starting with some interesting gift ideas.
NOVEMBER : Christmas is in full swing in the shop with lots of decorations, candles, foods and ideas for gift hampers. Place your orders now for Christmas turkeys, gammon and Castle Farm beef.
